I'm currently reading a compilation of four screenplays by Ingmar Bergman; Smiles of a Summer Night [movie photos shown here], The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries, and The Magician.
So far it's fabulous. I almost liked his introduction more than some of the scripts.


'The first film I had was nine feet long and brown in colour. It showed a girl lying asleepin a meadow, who woke up and stretched out her arms, then disappeared to the right. That was all there was to it.'
