This is how FCUK causes a stir

Spring Collection 2010 French Connection UK

I love these ads. I cannot even begin to fathom just how beautiful Astrid Berges-Frisbey is.
Many say that these ads objectify women, as the 'This is a Man' version is much more stronger and self assured. While these ads portray women to be waifish, docile, and frail, the opposite portrays men as rugged and powerful. Truthfully, I say 'who gives a damn?' Normally I would pounce if I saw an objectifying or gender discriminatory ad, but these are so creative. The photography is beautiful and it seems just like art. I would frame these, not critique them. Love it or leave it, FCUK has done it again.

"You look fabulous. And you smell great too."

For those of lesser wealth, Zac Posen has created Z Spoke, a cheaper [yet still high fashion] clothing line found only at Saks Fifth Avenue. They’re for a girl (or a mom, as Posen emphasized) who “can do whatever she wants at any moment—get on a plane, play sports.” Blazers, knits, high waisted skirts, and neck ties all surface in the eponymous line. Items cost anywhere from 60 dollars to 600. Now all we have to worry about is whether is pronounced 'Zee Spoke', or 'Zed Spoke'.

When I was Younger

I once had a crazy yoga teacher named Tanya. I say had, because she was fired from her job shortly after being hired. Anyways, she was a little... odd. She used to ask us if we had 'hot mothers' [ meaning menopausal]. I don't really know why, I suppose she just felt that it was her business. Class after class she would make us stay in downward dog for more time than was humanly possible. We were constantly manhandled by her rheumatic hands and creaky breathing. God only knows how old she was. Her favourite thing to shout was, 'IN INDIA WE WASH THE FLOOR LIKE THIS!'. Whereupon shouting this she would crouch down and swing her arms across the floor. I could insert a politically incorrect statement here, but I have no idea about the going ons of India, and will therefore let it be. On September 9th she asked us what day it was. Being a group of teenagers we looked around nervously, and a boy put up his hand. 'Is it the day that Beatles Rockband comes out?' If looks could kill that boy would definitely have been reduced to a pile of ash. 'NO!', she cried, 'It's my BIRTHday!' As punishment, we were forced into downward dog again.
Once the teachers caught wind of her teaching methods she was let go. Not that any of us really minded.

Artistic Capabilities

Upon viewing these works by Justin Lee Williams I must reflect on my past artistic endeavors. Unfortunately [fortunately?], there are not many. My childish illustrations and scrawlings had me barely passing grade seven and eight art if I remember correctly. It's not that I am not a fan, for I completely am, it's just.... I have absolutely no skill whatsoever. The best I can do is a sickly cat or jukebox. The two look rather similar when I draw them though.
J.L.W. it seems does not suffer from the same... artistic illness.

I Could Live In a Paper Bag.

"Hawaiian artist Moses crafted more than 250 paper bag hats in a creative outburst that lasted almost ten years. The Sun Rook hat alone took over 100 paper bags to create."
Hmm... interesting

Miscellaneous Misadventures

I would like to crawl into these pictures and sleep for many, many years.

Blondes Are Not Bland.

Alice.

Lewis Carroll evokes so much imagination in everyone.
How superb.

Is a raven like a writing desk because Poe wrote on both?

These Photos Do Not Match. But They All Have Bobby Pins in Common.

So I've been doing some scrolling, and I unearthed these old photos from Carolina Herrera and Donna Karan's 2009 Fall runways. One thing lead to another and I got on a roll.
Don't you think visible hair pins are lovely?

Spring Awakening.

My oh my Rachel Berry, you've shaped up.
